As its name - holy water spa - suggests Acquasanta, perched on mountain slopes at the south western tip of the Marche region, is a noted spa town.
Most of the visitors here have come to seek treatment in the mud pools or the warm sulphurous waters of the thermal baths which are claimed to be particularly efficacious for arthritis and respiratory disorders. The old medieval part of town, built mostly in local travertine stone, is also well worth exploring. |
