Books
One advantage of the Marche is that they have yet to be discovered by large numbers of tourists; the corresponding disadvantage is that the range of guide books dedicated to the region is limited.

Maps
The best map of the area for motorists and cyclists is the 1:200,000 Touring Club Italiano map of Umbria & Marche.

For walkers and mountain bikers find the three 1:50,000 sheets covering the mountainous zones of the Marche produced by KOMPASS-FLEISCHMANN:

Italian tourist information offices abroad
The Italian State Tourist Board has branches in most capital cities offering a wealth of free tourist literature. You'll find their website here. Tell them you want to go to the Marche and complain if they don't flood you with glossy brochures.

Tourist information offices in the Marche
For tourist information offices just look for the italic "i" information symbol. Provincial capitals have offices that carry barrowloads of leaflets on the whole province, other larger towns of interest to tourists will have an information office with street plans, hotel lists, etc., open daily; smaller towns and villages will only have a Pro Loco with limited opening hours.
